Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on RackRate are affiliate links. Here is exactly how that works, which hosts we have relationships with, and why it never changes a ranking or a renewal figure.
RackRate earns money through affiliate links. If you click one of our outbound host links and go on to buy a plan, the hosting company pays us a commission — at no extra cost to you, and usually at the same price you would pay arriving any other way. That commission is how a free, independent site funds the work of checking prices. This page lays out the arrangement in full, because a deals site that will not explain its own incentives has not earned your trust.
Which hosts we have relationships with
We participate in, or intend to participate in, affiliate or partner programs for the mainstream shared-hosting brands we cover: Hostinger, Bluehost, HostGator, DreamHost, GreenGeeks, Namecheap and A2 Hosting. Outbound links to these hosts route through our /go/ redirect and are marked as sponsored. Where a program is not yet approved for this site, the link points to the host's own homepage until our own tracking link is live — we never reuse another site's link.
Why it doesn't bend the ranking
Commissions differ wildly between hosts, and a payout-driven site would simply rank the highest bidder first. We rank on the renewal price instead, which is why the arithmetic does not follow the money. The clearest proof is our current top pick on the ranked hosting deals page, Hostinger, whose program pays affiliate sites nothing on renewals and nothing on monthly plans — we earn zero on the number we recommend it for. When a host with no worthwhile program is genuinely the best value, we still say so.
Trademarks and independence
Host names and logos, where shown, are the property of their owners and are used only nominatively — to identify the deal being discussed. RackRate is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hosting company on the site. This disclosure follows the spirit of the FTC's guidance on affiliate relationships; if anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we will explain it.
